In 2025, Putnam County experienced remarkable growth across nearly all economic categories. Our population continues to increase at a strong pace, and Cookeville was recognized as the Number 24 U-Haul Growth City nationally.* While Putnam County ranked as the eighth fastest growing county in Tennessee in 2024, growth slightly decreased in 2025, placing us 32nd statewide.** The growth of our labor force and participation rate has been noteworthy, with more jobs being filled and a growing number of companies actively engaging in workforce development programs.
Business is thriving, as evidenced by the issuance of over 656 new & renewed business licenses in 2025. Additionally, significant investments are being made in our infrastructure, education systems, and overall quality of life, laying a strong foundation for continued growth and prosperity.
