Tonight is the 3rd Annual Baxter Independence Day Blowout at Upperman Middle School! The fun starts at 4PM with food, inflatables, music, and more. This is all leading up to an incredible fireworks show after dark.![]()

The fun starts early with the Fire on the Mountain 5K, a Vintage Base Ball game at Black Bottom Field, and live music throughout the day. Fireworks begin at 9:15PM and will be fully synchronized to 94.7 The Country GIANT.![]()

We had a great time celebrating Operation United Hope today! The ribbon cutting celebrated the anniversary of their move to a spacious new 6,000 square foot facility, which marked a big step forward in their mission to serve Veterans and Military families in our region. This incredible nonprofit gives back to those who’ve served by offering a free shop, pantry, and vital support services.![]()

In 2015, Lisa and Dave Uhrik took a leap of faith, moving from Chamber-supported workforce development initiatives like adult mentorship and Tennessee Reconnect into a personal mission to build up small manufacturing. Working with the SBA, they purchased Franklin Fixtures in Cape Cod and relocated it to Cookeville with a mission to create local jobs and strengthen regional manufacturing. The choice of Franklin was both strategic and personal, aligning with Lisa’s passion for literacy and their shared interest in building strong communities through book culture. ![]()

Since then, Franklin Fixtures has firmly established itself in Putnam County as a trusted manufacturer with ten years of experience designing, building, and installing high quality retail and book displays. Their fixtures can be found in independent bookstores, libraries, and major retailers in all 48 continental states. Today, the company employs 65 team members at their solar powered facility in Cookeville and is widely recognized for its sustainable practices and people first culture.![]()

Franklin Fixtures is living proof that small manufacturers can make a big impact. Their growth has strengthened the local economy, created meaningful jobs, and inspired other businesses to think long term. Dave and Lisa are building more than a business, they’re building a legacy. Their goal is to create an institution that will serve the community for generations to come.![]()

None of this would be possible without the strong partnership between Franklin Fixtures and the Chamber. It’s a great example of what can happen when local businesses and the Chamber work together to grow the workforce, support local success, and build a stronger community.![]()

Founded in 1983 in Putnam County, REI has grown steadily over the past 40+ years as a leading manufacturer of electronic test equipment for security applications. Now a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, REI is expanding its facility to support growth in engineering, production, and Training Center operations.![]()

This marks the second addition to their building since 2002, driven by new product development, growing markets, and increased staffing. The REI Training Center has also seen a rise in attendance, bringing in visitors from all over the world, and prompting the need for additional project rooms and offices. ![]()
