Chamber to Host Two Candidate Events
Chamber members and the public are invited to meet their prospective city and county candidates at two events scheduled by the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, July 10 at the Leslie Town Centre.
The first of these events will be a City Candidate Forum for the cities of Algood, Baxter, Cookeville and Monterey. This event is scheduled for 7:30-9:00 a.m. The forum will give voters the opportunity to hear directly from the candidates on business-related issues.
Following that afternoon, all city council and county commissioner candidates from Putnam County are invited to attend the chamber’s Meet & Greet event, which is scheduled for 4:00-5:30 p.m. This informal event will give voters the chance to speak one-on-one with the candidates to learn more about their individual platforms.
Dianne Callahan, VP of Organizational development for the Chamber states, “Times like these are so important for our county and its communities. We at the chamber are honored to host these two events for the public to gain a better understanding on their potential candidates’ stance on issues that are vitally important to not only the business community, but to the communities in Putnam County overall. We invite everyone to come out with your questions for the candidates. ”
