Shan Stout

Shan Stout is the Director of Tourism for the Cookeville-Putnam County Visitors Bureau. Shan comes to us with a rich background in publishing, non-profit marketing, volunteer management and tourism promotion. Shan served as the Regional Director of Marketing for Ascension Saint Thomas Health, along with managing Volunteer Services across five counties in Middle Tennessee. Shan’s earlier career produced thirteen children’s projects, along with three best-selling books in multiple languages. Shan works closely with WCTE-PBS, and is currently filming a new pilot series focusing on Upper Cumberland tourism. Shan is passionate about growing tourism while partnering with local leadership and small businesses. Shan is married to her husband, Sam, and they have three ‘nearly grown’ children. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, kayaking and visiting authentic general stores across the state.
