Spring has sprung in the Upper Cumberland which means warmer days and more opportunities to get outside and enjoy everything nature has to offer! After a year of quarantine, it’s important to get out, stretch those legs and get active! There’s no better place to do that than the Upper Cumberland!

1. Play frisbee golf or take a walk at Cane Creek Park!
Paddleboats, kayaks and canoes, oh my! From gliding on the pond to taking on 18 holes of disc golf, Cane Creek Park is an ideal location for anyone looking for outdoor activity. And even Fido can join! Pets are also allowed in Cane Creek with expected adherence to the City of Cookeville’s leash law.

2. Join a slow-pitch softball team!
The Cane Creek Sportsplex is offering Spring Softball for both Adult Church League and Adult Co-Ed Recreation League! Last day for standard registration is Friday, March 26, 2021.

3. Swing a club at one of our beautiful area golf courses, all courses listed are open to the public!
From the Golden Eagle Golf Club to Belle Acres, to White Plains, Southern Hills and all the way to Sparta at RiverWatch, area golf courses are plentiful and the ideal way to let off some steam on the links! All courses are open to the public!
4. Have little ones with energy to spare? Spend some time in one of our numerous area playgrounds!
From the Heart of the City Playground to Cinderella Park to the Playgrounds at Cane Creek, slides and bridges and swings abound in our area! These playgrounds are the ideal location to take your little ones this spring!

5. Attend a TTU Baseball or Softball game.
Outdoor Sports in our area to attend are vast and for those that love the visual component of recreational activities, there are options for you as well. Baseball along with TTU Softball are FREE events and open to the public!
