Membership Spotlight: SWALLOWS INSURANCE AGENCY
By: Zach Buckner | 02.25.20

Since our beginnings in 1956, The Swallows Agencies has become a leader in providing quality protection for thousands of individuals & families throughout our region. Started in 1956 by Elmo Swallows, the agency has been family owned and operated for over 63 years. Our basic belief in providing only the best in coverage and personal service is just one of the many reasons why today, more than ever, people are moving up to the difference of quality insurance protection The Swallows Agencies can uniquely provide.

Mike Swallows joined his father Elmo in leading the agency in 1970. Growth through agency acquisitions allowed for expansion into the entire Upper Cumberland through the early 2000’s. Mike’s son, Matt Swallows, joined the agency in 2000 and now serves as President. Both Matt and Mike are active in the community serving with many organizations such as: Overton and Putnam County Chamber board of directors, Overton County Rotary, TTU Foundation, Putnam County YMCA. Insurors of Tennessee, Cookeville Regional Hospital Board, Emerging Leaders of Keystone Insurance Group, and Cookeville City Council, to name a few. Matt currently hosts the 94.1 NewsTalk radio program “Local Matters” each week on Stonecom Radio.
