Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Awarded Four-Star Accreditation
by U.S. Chamber of Commerce
Good news! The Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that after a comprehensive self-review, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has awarded us with 4-Star Accreditation. This prestigious honor puts us among the top 3% of chambers nationwide.
George Halford, Chamber President and CEO expressed gratitude to the board, the volunteer leadership, and the staff of the Chamber for their diligence in seeing this process through. “This really was a team effort, and a real testament to the hard working staff of the Chamber. Dianne and the membership team, with so much help and collaboration from each division head and supporting staff member, showed what we’re all about by guiding us through this process. Only a very small handful of Chambers in the nation can tout an accredited status, and even fewer are accredited at a four star level. Our task was to demonstrate competency in 9 core areas ranging from finance to facilities. The result of our hard-work is evidenced by this impressive rating. But in truth, we should all be extraordinarily proud of this milestone achievement."
Dianne Callahan, VP of Membership Development stated, “As the only national program recognizing chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement, Accreditation allows us to renew, improve, and promote sound business practices, policies, and procedures. We have an amazing team at the Chamber, and their skill sets and talents were showcased throughout this entire process.”
Local chambers are rated Accredited, 3-Stars, 4-Stars, or 5-Stars. State chambers are recognized as either Accredited State Chamber or Accredited State Chamber with Distinction. The final determination is made by the Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members and chamber executives from across the country.
